On Wednesday afternoon, Pope Leo XIV participated in a telephone conversation with António Costa, the President of the European Council, according to a statement from the Holy See Press Office. This discussion addressed the situation in the Middle East, focusing specifically on the West Bank in the State of Palestine and the challenges faced by Christians in southern Lebanon.
During this cordial exchange, both leaders examined the complexities of the region. The Pope emphasized the importance of interreligious dialogue and highlighted the promotion of peace, particularly in areas affected by conflict and instability.
